The Legacy of Eladio Dieste
Eladio Dieste, the engineer who made brick fly, left Salto an unusual concentration of his work: the old municipal bus terminal, the Agencia Central terminal, a service station, a club on the riverfront and, out by the lake, the Parador Ayuí. This guided walk takes you to his self-supporting brick vaults in the city and explains how a humble material became some of the most original architecture in Latin America.
